Orson’s recovery update – Friday, July 14th

Here’s the latest update on Orson. He’s the dog we began telling you about three months ago when your Rancho Coastal Humane Society raised funds to pay for a surgery that would stretch a bone in his leg so he could walk without pain. A few days ago Orson had an appointment with his surgeon, Dr. Joshua Jackson, at Veterinary Specialty Hospital. Dr. Jackson removed the fixator (that’s the device that was stretching his leg bone.)

X-rays showed that the surgery and follow up treatment have been successful. Orson is expected to remain under medical care in the home of a RCHS foster care volunteer for another month.

His next medical appointment is scheduled for the first week of August. If all goes as expected Orson will be available for adoption after that.
