Santa Paws…..Delivering Pets to Their New Ho-Ho-Homes on Christmas Day

Santa Paws is like the staff and volunteers at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He doesn’t mind working on Christmas day to help the animals!

For the fifth year in a row, your Rancho Coastal Humane Society is offering a limited number of pet deliveries on Christmas by Santa Paws!

Between now and Christmas, a limited number of families can arrange for Santa Paws and his helper to deliver their newly adopted pets to their homes on Christmas day!

Here’s how it works:

  • If you find a pet that you want to adopt, you fill out an adoption application then take part in an interview designed to match the needs of the pet with the desires of the family.
  • All family members, including children, meet the pets. (Don’t worry. The adoption counselors at RCHS are pretty crafty when it comes to keeping secrets.)

A limited number of adopters will have the option of having Santa Paws deliver their new pets on Christmas day. Just pay the regular adoption fee and make a donation of at least $100 to RCHS.

If this isn’t the right time for your family to add a pet, please make a tax-deductible donation to pay for somebody else’s delivery. We can’t imagine anything more generous than providing a family with this gift that they will remember forever.

Once the deliveries are scheduled Santa Paws and his helper will pack up the sleigh and hit the road. There’s a very good chance that a photographer and reporter from CBS News 8 will tag along to capture the experience.

John Van Zante, RCHS Public Relations Director and a close personal friend of Santa’s, remembers getting his first puppy for Christmas when he was six. “Getting a pet for Christmas changes your life. But it’s what happens after Santa leaves that really matters. Pets are a lifetime commitment. Every animal deserves a tomorrow.”
