Brioche is Everything “Anybunny” Could Want

Brioche, a Chinchilla rabbit, was just 5-1/2 months old when she was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from Riverside County through our Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) transport program. It’s easy to see she is a Chinchilla rabbit by looking at her thick, soft, fluffy coat.

Baby bunnies are usually gentle, but they’re not always trusting. But we noticed right away that 3-1/2-pound Brioche was different. During her medical and behavior evaluations, Brioche did great! She was confident and outgoing.

Brioche was downright friendly. When a handler approached, Brioche didn’t run away. She hopped over to introduce herself. She loved petting. In fact, she liked bunny cuddles more than eating carrots.

She quickly settled in and became one of our favorites. Six weeks after her transfer, we matched Brioche with her perfect family.

In her new home, Brioche has two human brothers. They are very gentle with her. She gets free run of the house when they are home and a nice big pen at night.

We contacted Brioche’s new family to see how things are going. Her human dad sent us pictures of Brioche and her new “brother” Kyle and tells us:

“They are reading together and bonding. As you can see, she likes to investigate her surroundings. She is a very curious bunny and will stick her nose in anything that attracts her attention. She is super friendly and the Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s rating of her is spot on. Thanks so much for the friendly follow-up call and advice.”

This reminded us of the old song “Everybody loves some bunny sometime.” (Those aren’t the exact words, but you get the picture.)

Congratulations to Brioche and her new family. Thank you for adopting from Rancho Coastal Humane Society where Every Animal Deserves a Tomorrow®.
