Celeste

  • Female

  •  10 Years Old

Celeste is an extremely smart girl who loves attention and naps. Celeste was brought into a vet clinic and surrendered by her previous guardian. When she entered into a foster home, she was hesitant about being friends with new people, preferring to hang out in the same room, but not sure about being petted. These days, Celeste meows and asks for pets and attention multiple times a day. The key to her newfound trust and confidence has been patience, routine, and her favorite thing – clicker training!

Celeste’s most adorable behavior is that she flops over onto her side and rolls side-to-side when she is happy. She does this nearly every time her foster walks into the room where she spends most of her time. The only time she doesn’t do it is when she is sleepy and napping in her unicorn print cat cave bed. Celeste enjoys brief bouts of playtime, but she mostly prefers to hang out with her person and then snooze quietly during work time – she makes an excellent cat for a home office. She also has a back scratcher claw that she is obsessed with, and which serves as a very important tool when she is getting to know a new person. We call it her “claw,” and it makes her very, very happy to be scratched with it.

This beautiful girl knows how to stay on a mat, willingly walks into a cat carrier when asked, and loves target training (touching her nose to a finger).

Celeste would like to live with adults who can be patient with her while she gets to know them. She would prefer to be the only animal in the home, but aside from that, she’s a low maintenance cat. She doesn’t even need much space – a small home or apartment is just fine by her! Just give her love and attention and she will be very happy.
