A few years back we heard a famous motivational speaker (whose name slips our mind now) tell his audience, “There are two things that accomplish nothing. Hope and worry.”
That certainly doesn’t sound very motivating! Was he telling us not to have hope?
He explained that hope without action rarely gets anything done. If you hope for something, you need to be willing to work for it.
His explanation for worry was pretty much the same. You can worry about what might or might not happen, or you can get busy and make it happen or keep it from happening.
Maybe he was right about Hope and Worry. Maybe not.
He might also say the same thing about wishing. Every month in Fetch we ask you to take a minute to scan the Wish List. It’s a list of things that we don’t have, but would like to have so we can better serve people and animals.
There are things that are on the list every week. Blankets, towels, and the necessities.
Some months there are items on the list that we’ve never needed in the 58 year history of your Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
We don’t believe that wishing accomplishes nothing.
Because we believe you wish what we wish. To keep your Rancho Coastal Humane Society a place where Every Animal Deserves a Tomorrow. ®
