Last month we told you about the remodeling trials and tribulations of RCHS Thrift Shop Manager Brian Cook. The day they closed the Shop to install the new floor, the “floor instally” guys didn’t show up until afternoon. When they got there, they only had enough floor stuff to do half the floor. It was a nightmare.
Brian rescheduled, the floor was installed, the walls were painted, and the Thrift Shop was back up and running. Now that Brian is taking a well-deserved vacation, we headed over to see the results.
WOW! The floor looks amazing. And it’s level. The dining room table with chairs and a full set of plates, dishes, cups, and saucers didn’t wobble whenever anyone touched it.
While they had to move everything around anyway, they rearranged some of the women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing. It makes your shopping easier.
Other Brian and a new guy were unloading newly donated living room furniture that they had just picked up. They had a sofa with two matching chairs, coffee table, end tables, and lamps. They arranged it in the Furniture department. It looked great!
We asked Other Brian, “Since Brian is on vacation, do you get to be Brian?”
As he put a vase on the coffee table, then changed his mind and put it on a night stand that was part of a bedroom suite across the aisle, he explained, “Brian is still Brian and I’m still Other Brian.” Then he turned around and introduced the new guy who had been helping him unload. “This is Bryan….with a Y.”
You gotta be kidding. Now there are three Brian / Bryans at the Thrift Shop? What do they call the new guy? Is he Bryan with a Y? Or is he Other-Other Brian?
“Sean came up with B-3 and we all liked it. So now we have Brian, Other Brian, and B-3. By the way, have you seen Sean’s new clothes? He’s going with a German theme.”
Oh good gosh. Time to leave. We strolled by the Jewelry section before heading through Sporting Goods and out to the parking lot. Stop by soon. It looks great!

As Brian reminds us, the money raised at the Thrift Shop helps people and animals when they need it most. We have to be successful. Every animal deserves a tomorrow. ®
