Here Comes Santa Paws!
Imagine this. It’s Christmas Day. The doorbell rings. And standing there with your new dog or cat, puppy, kitten, or bunny is Santa Paws!
He explains to your family, “I was going to leave this with the other presents, but it’s such a precious gift that I wanted to deliver it in person.”
This Christmas Day a limited number of pets adopted from your Rancho Coastal Humane Society will be delivered to their new homes.
Here’s how it works. Until Monday, December 23rd you visit RCHS and find a pet that you want to adopt. This is our normal pet adoption process. It includes an adoption application, an interview, a call to your landlord where applicable, and interaction between your family and current pet(s) if necessary.
Once the adoption is approved, you pay the standard adoption fee and we discretely schedule your delivery. (The adoption counselors are really good at this.)
There’s no fee for the Santa deliveries, but your tax deductible donations are appreciated to help cover costs.
One more thing. Unless there’s breaking news that pulls them away, CBS News 8 will be with us to record this special occasion. The story will begin airing Christmas evening!
Visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas by Monday, December 23rd to schedule your Christmas Day delivery. For more information call 760-753-6413.
- Each adopter will be given a “window” of time when they can expect Santa to deliver their new pet.
- Keep in mind that pets are a lifetime commitment. They’re not decorations or photo opportunities. If you’re already thinking about adding a pet to your family this holiday season, a visit from Santa Paws can make it an experience of a lifetime.
- You can’t buy a new best friend for someone else, but you can let them pick their new pet then pay the adoption fee for them.
