I adopted Modelo Joe (Mojo) on March 25, 2025, from the San Diego Humane Society. His name was O-Ceder. He was brought in by law enforcement with a buddy (Swiffer) they both looked like mops (picture attached). The first week went very well. I live in a three-story townhome on Balboa Avenue and about a quarter mile from the 5 FWY. On April 5th during our 4th walk of the day, a motorcycle drove by on Balboa Avenue and revved its engine. Mojo freaked out, to say the least. Mojo is TERRIFIED to go outside now. He got worse as the week went by. I have a home in Palm Desert So, the next Sunday the 13th Mojo and I drove out there( he likes car rides). Mojo was a totally different dog out there. My house is on a golf course and close to a major 50 mph street. I have a gated courtyard in front and a pool with a 3 ½ foot wall looking over the golf course in back. Mojo loved being in the courtyard, playing on the grass. The noise on Fred Waring and the construction across the street did not bother him at all. In the back yard, the grass grooming machines on the golf course, the airplanes flying over did not bother him either. We returned to San Diego on Friday night the 25th. Mojo is OK, going out to potty at 6:00 in the morning and after 10:00 at night when the traffic is quieter. In an enclosed yard and in the house, Mojo feels secure and content. Mojo is a GREAT dog. He is fully potty trained. loves playing with his toys, his food, and most of all being with me. Mojo needs an enclosed yard and a loving family. I think a dog buddy would be good for him also. He loves other dogs and people.
