Scout is a sweet and sensitive Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe and welcoming place. Due to a difficult history with men, he can be very shy at first and will need a gentle, patient family willing to let him build trust and transition out of the shelter at his own pace. Once Scout feels safe, his energetic puppy personality comes shining through, and he’s ready to play, explore, and enjoy life with his people. He’s already potty trained but is still working on his leash manners and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. Scout also loves to use his voice, so a family that doesn’t mind a little barking and is ready to give him the patience he deserves could be a wonderful match.
