Summer Crushes 2024

Chesternut

We have such a dog crush on Chesternut. Just look at his scruffy face! He’s a 2-year-old, 42-pound Terrier mix.  https://rchumanesociety.org/chesternut/

Chesternut’s previous owner surrendered him to a shelter in the Imperial Valley. He was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).

Chesternut is a fun-loving pup. He’s not what you would call a high-energy dog, but his energy level is definitely above average. Like many young terriers, Chesternut is outgoing. He’ll need a combination of physical and mental exercise in his new home.

The $145 adoption fee for Chesternut includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Muad’dib

It can be pretty comical in the cattery when people meet Muad’Dib and try to figure out how to say his name. Muad’Dib is our Kitty Crush for this month.

We’ll give you a hint. In the “Dune” movies, Muad’Dib is the name of one of two moons of Arrakis. Start with “Mmm” then transition in “wad.” Follow that with “Deeb.”

This Muad’Dib is a 2-year-old, 12-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair cat with as a Blue Tabby coat. He’s a very handsome kitty! He was adopted from one of our shelter partners when he was a kitten, but later returned when his owner was no longer able to care for him. His Report Card says he’s a shy kitty who craves a patient and understanding family. Maybe what he needs most is YOU!

The $75 adoption fee for Maud’dib includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.
