Animal Camps

Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) animal camps are a fun educational experience led by trained educators that encourages respect and understanding for all living beings. Animal Camps are offered in the Summer, Spring and Fall for children ages 6 – 14. These camps book up quickly, so watch for registration dates and make your plans!

Spring Animal Camp Registration is OPEN!

After years of construction we are happy to be able to offer animal camps again.  Our Spring Animal Camps are themed, week-long sessions. Using hands-on games, activities, arts and crafts, guest speakers and of course live animals, children are taught about animals and their importance in our world. Each day of camp provides a window into the life of shelter animals, rescued animals, wildlife conservation and animal care! 

Appropriate for ages: 6–11 years old
Time: 9:00am–3:00pm M-F
Cost: $230 for the week
Scholarships Available: Email our education department for how to apply.

  • Week 1: March 24-28
  • Week 2: March 31-April 4

Summer Camp Registration will open on March 10!

After two years of construction we are happy to announce construction is complete and we will be offering animal camps again.  We will be offering 9 weeks of summer camp this year from June 16 – August 15.

  • Time: 9:00am–3:00pm M-F
  • Weeks 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8 are for campers ages 6-10 Cost $230
  • Weeks 4, 5, 6 & 9 are for campers ages 11-14  Cost $245
  • Due to limited space campers can only register for one week of camp.
  • Scholarships Available: Email our education department for how to apply.
  • Please read over our CAMP FAQs for more information regarding camp before registering.
  • Age Restrictions: Children must turn the appropriate age on or before the week their camp starts to attend. Older children may attend the camp for ages 6-10 if they wish.

Fall Animal Camp

Our week long Fall Camps use hands-on games, activities, arts and crafts, guest speakers and of course live animals to teach children about animals and their importance in our world. If you can’t attend Fall Camp; Rancho Coastal offers camps in the Spring and Summer too! Please send an email to education@sdpets.org if you would like to be added to our contact list for our camps. You will be notified by email when registration opens for our camps.

PLEASE READ Disclaimer:

  • Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and all fees must be paid at time of registration.
  • Please ensure your choice of dates and session is correct. We regret that we are unable to make any changes once your registration has been officially processed.
  • Do to limited space campers can only register for one week of camp. If interested in more than one week your child can be put on the wait-list.
  • Camp sessions are limited to 20 campers each week of camp. 10 campers for camp for ages 11-14.
  • Please read over our CAMP FAQs for more information regarding camp before registering.
  • Please note we have age limits and your child must be of the appropriate age to attend certain camps.
  • We do not separate campers by age; they will spend the entire day together regardless of their age.
