Squirrel is a sweet and sensitive Chihuahua mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe and welcoming place. He has a difficult history with men and can be quite shy at first, so he is looking for a gentle, patient family that will give him the time he needs to decompress and build trust. Once Squirrel feels comfortable, his energetic puppy personality begins to shine, and as an added bonus, he’s already potty trained! He can be sensitive to excessive handling and will do best with adopters who are familiar with dog body language and can recognize when he needs a little space. With patience, consistency, and the freedom to move at his own pace, Squirrel has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
