Crushes of the Month – February 2025

Oatmeal Molasses May Be the Valentine You’re Looking For

Oatmeal Molasses is a 3.5-year-old, 43-pound, female Terrier mix who is ready to be someone’s devoted furry friend.

She was surrendered to one of our crowded rescue partners, along with her litter of puppies. When her puppies were rehomed and she was left behind, our intake team drove more than 100 miles to bring Oatmeal down to Rancho Coastal Humane Society for adoption in our animal-loving community.

Oatmeal was quickly adopted, then returned after two weeks when her owner inherited another dog. After that, she went into foster care with a trained RCHS volunteer. She is an energetic dog who needs a home with a fenced yard where she can safely explore her surroundings.

The $145 adoption fee for Oatmeal Molasses includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Meet Matzo – Could He Be Your Future Bestie?

Matzo is a handsome 4-year-old, 11-pound, Domestic Short Hair cat with a soft brown and white Tabby coat and a heart ready to give love.

This sweet kitty was picked up as a stray and taken to one of our crowded shelter partners by a kind-hearted good Samaritan. When no one claimed him and that shelter needed to create space for new arrivals, Matzo was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through our Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) transport program.

Matzo is a social cat, but he’s still a little bit scared of his new surroundings. He may not come looking for affection, but if you pet him, he will lean in and enjoy the attention. One more thing. Matzo LOVES his cat food! He is a total foodie!

The $100 adoption fee for Matzo includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip. Come Meet Matzo today!
