Fetch – January 2019 – Pet of the Month

Max

Max is the Fetch pet of the month at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society.  He’s a 2 year old, 55 pound, male, Shar Pei / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He was transferred to us from a Riverside County shelter through our FOCAS program.

One of Max’s upper canine teeth, those big teeth in the front, was changing color. He needed a root canal. We very seldom have even one root canal per year. But that was what Max needed so he got his surgery and he’s doing great!

Max is still nervous when he meets new people. When you pass his kennel, you might get woofed at. That’s why there’s almost always a bowl with kibbles sitting there. Toss Max a couple kibbles. He’ll calm right down and you’ll see what a terrific dog he is.

He needs an active home. If you already have a dog, Max would love that! One more thing. He doesn’t seem to mind if you call him Macaroni.

The $145 adoption fee for Max includes medical exams, vaccinations, neuter, registered microchip, and that root canal surgery he had. For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log on to SDpets.org.
Kennels and Cattery open 11 AM to 5 PM every day but Tuesday.

If this isn’t a good time to adopt, please make a donation by sponsoring a pet until it becomes available for adoption. After all, Every Animal Deserves a Tomorrow ®.
