All Winners at Puppy Bowl 2023
Another Rancho Coastal Humane Society Puppy Bowl on Fox 5 San Diego is in the books! The Philadelphia “Beagles” went face-to-furry-face against the Kansas City Chows in the cutest contest of the year.
Just like the Chiefs and the Eagles in the Super Bowl where the Kelce brothers faced each other on the field, the Puppy Bowl “players” were 12 rookie brothers and sisters from the same litter.
Talk about humble beginnings! These puppies and their mommy, Diyosa, were rescued from a graveyard where she gave birth in the dark of night.
They were taken to a shelter, then transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.) They trained here until they were old enough to be drafted into their new home teams.
The game was filled with action, and plenty of penalties including:
- Unnecessary Ruff-ness
- Illegal use of Paws
- Holding (mostly being held by the Fox 5 staff!)
- Tripping (over their own paws)
- Un-Puppy-like Conduct
- Kissing the Referee
Who won? The puppies and the home teams who adopted them!
After signing lifelong contracts with no-trade clauses and no opt-outs, most of the puppies have gone to their new home teams. Even the one that fell asleep on the 50-yard line! From a cold, dark cemetery to Fox 5 to their forever homes. Everybody wins!
