Please note that if your pet is in need of immediate care, where any delay will put the pet at risk, it is your responsibility to seek veterinary care immediately.
There is no guarantee RCHS will be able to provide financial assistance.
This program is intended for seniors (age 60+) living in San Diego County who are facing financial hardship in providing veterinary care for their pet(s). Because RCHS believes that veterinary care will contribute to the long-term quality of life for the pet, for eligible seniors, this program will support diagnostic testing, x-rays, medications and care as part of a veterinary treatment plan.
RCHS is aware that urgent and chronic veterinary care often can be cost-prohibitive; therefore, financial assistance will be evaluated for:
- Urgent/emergency care
- Ongoing/chronic conditions such as diabetes, Cushing’s or Addison’s Disease
- Cancer treatment and care where a positive prognosis is anticipated
Seniors meeting the following annual income limits will be able to take advantage of the program.
