Preserving the human-animal bond by providing financial assistance, resources and support to seniors (60 years or older living in San Diego County) and their pets so families can stay together.
The Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) Veterinary Care Program provides financial assistance and support to senior pet parents facing economic hardship in providing veterinary care for their pet(s).
These expenses include quality of life medical issues and veterinary care.
Applicants must be on a fixed or limited income based on established criteria. Financial documentation is required as well as a written estimate and treatment plan from a licensed San Diego County-based veterinarian.
All applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
We will consider:
• Eligibility and financial need (see chart below)
• Medical need
• Good prognosis with treatment
• Available funding
Please note that if your pet is in need of immediate care, where any delay will put the pet at risk, it is your responsibility to seek veterinary care immediately.
There is no guarantee RCHS will be able to provide financial assistance.
