Be Careful What You Ask at Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop
Whether you’ve joined the thousands of people who visit your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff-by-the-Sea or you follow our success in Fetch, be careful when you see Thrift Shop Manager Brian Cook.
While Brian was on vacation, the Shop kept humming along. Donations poured in. Sales continued. Shoppers browsed the merchandise with their pets, friends and families.
Other Brian was hiding behind a newly-donated big screen TV that he set in the furniture section with a sofa, chairs and lamps. We asked what was going on.
Unless you have a few hours to spare, don’t ask Brian if he needs help.
Loving a good challenge, we followed the hum of activity that always seems to surround Brian. He had moved through Women’s Clothing and Shoes into Men’s Clothing and was just about to rush through the Jewelry department on his way to Sporting Goods.
“Sir? Sir? Please move that bicycle over next to the boogie boards. Did you finish hooking up that computer?” (Other Brian came out of hiding to help the man.)
Brian explained, “We’re a little short-handed. Until we fill the open position, I’m asking customers and people in our parking lot to help. They’ve been great!”
Some poor guy on crutches came out of the donut shop next door trying to juggle his coffee and donut. Brian shouted, “Hey buddy! You got a minute?”
We need your help before this gets even more out of control. If you’re looking for a rewarding job that helps the people and pets served by your Rancho Coastal Humane Society, click on this link.
Share it with your friends and family and ask them to share it. Help us. Help Brian. Help Other Brian. For gosh sakes, help that poor guy on the crutches!
Of course, as Brian reminds us, the money raised at the Thrift Shop helps people and animals when they need it most. We have to be successful. Every Animal
Deserves a Tomorrow®.
