Help Build the Future

It is time! Rancho Coastal Humane Society has outgrown its little yellow house where founder Maria K. Lloyd first started rescuing companion animals more than six decades ago. At that time, Interstate 5 was just a country road! As our pet and people population grows, RCHS has stretched beyond its limits.

Together with our community, Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) has been saving and changing lives for more than 60 years. While best known for companion animal rescue, care and adoptions, our mission is so much more.

At RCHS, we keep pets and people together and we boldly envision a day when there are NO more homeless companion animals.

The programs and services we offer provide critical support and outreach to animals and the community. They include the Animal Safehouse Program for victims of domestic violence, seniors and military veterans, Humane Education and Youth Programs, the Community Pet Food BankPet Assisted TherapyPet Loss Support Program, and the Veterinary Care Program for low-income seniors.
