Crushes of the Month – June 2025

Georgie is sure to steal your heart.
Georgie is a 10-year-old, 8-1/2-pound, male, Shih Tzu / Poodle mix.
Until recently, Georgie lived in foster care with a trained volunteer. His foster tells us Georgie was a perfect house guest who spent most of his time napping. In his foster home, he lived with men, women, and a cat. He got along great with the cat. They sunbathed together every afternoon.
The foster tells us Georgie is house trained. He enjoys playing with small cat toys. When he’s ready for a nap, Gerogie burrows under his blankets.
His $75 adoption fee includes medical exam, neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.
If his adopter is 60 years or older, Georgie’s adoption fee will be paid by a generous RCHS benefactor in our Seniors-For-Seniors program.

Who doesn’t love a little String Cheese!
Our Kitty Crush for June is String Cheese. He’s a 1-year-old, 7-1/2-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair cat. His Report Card calls String Cheese “…a compact burst of feline energy. Curious, clever, and endlessly entertaining.”
Like many of our adoptable pets, String Cheese was a stray before being taken to a crowded shelter. He’s such a terrific cat that the shelter staff was certain his owner would find him. When nobody came, String Cheese was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).
He’s a medium-to-high energy cat. Once he settles into his new home, String Cheese will want to take cat naps on the couch after some play time and a few “zoomies” through the house. He loves meeting new people. When he gets excited, he “talks.”
The $100 adoption fee for String Cheese includes medical exams, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.
