Crushes of the Month – May 2023

Toasty

UPDATE: Toasty has been adopted! You can meet any of her friends still at the shelter here: https://rchumanesociety.org/adopt/dogs-for-adoption/

“Oh my gosh! Look at that shiny coat!”

We hear that every day when guests meet Toasty. Our May “Kennel Crush” is a beautiful, two-year-old, 57-pound female Hound mix.

Toasty was at a shelter in the Imperial Valley. When her owners failed to reclaim her, she was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through our FOCAS program.

Toasty is a jumper and her new family will want to remind her that she only gets the attention she wants when she has “four-on-the-floor.” Just take it easy while you bond and grow together.

Her adoption fee of $145 includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Mandy

UPDATE: Mandy has been adopted! Meet some of her friends still available for adoption here: https://rchumanesociety.org/adopt/cats-for-adoption/

We wondered why so many adopters were walking out of the cattery, humming the same Barry Manilow song. Then we got it. It’s our May “Kitty Crush”, Mandy!

A few years ago, Mandy was found on the streets and taken to a local shelter. To help them make room, she was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters). She was adopted right away. Now, three years later and through no fault of her own, she’s back at RCHS.

Miss Mandy needs a new home. She gets along well with other cats, and she might like living with kids who are at least ten years old, as long as they respect her space.

The $100 adoption fee for Mandy includes medical and behavior exams, spay, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.

Sorry if we got that old song stuck in your head. Sometimes it helps if you hear it again.
