Summer Crushes 2023

Mila

We have such a crush on Mila … AGAIN! She’s a 4.5-year-old, 36-pound, female, Jack Russell Terrier/Smooth Coated Collie mix.

Mila’s mom was a stray in Mississippi. She was taken to a sanctuary where she had six puppies. They were all transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS.) Mila was adopted right away, now returned after four years. Her family says she needs a home where there will be someone with her most of the time. She doesn’t like being left alone. She also might like living with another dog to keep her company.

The $145 adoption fee for Mila includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Willy

Willy doesn’t seem to notice that he’s missing an eye…or that he can’t see out of the eye he has left.

Willy is around 3.5 years old and weighs almost 10 pounds. He’s a Domestic Medium Hair cat with a soft Blue coat.

He was an injured stray when he was taken to one of our local rescue partners. Because of his wounds, his right eye had to be removed. During his recovery, animal care attendants observed that Willy had no sight in his left eye. How does that work? Pretty well. He’s very aware of his surroundings. He relies on his other senses. Just take it easy with him so Willy doesn’t get any surprises.

The $100 adoption fee for Willy includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.
