Fall Crushes 2023
Phee
It’s fun to listen when people see Phee for the first time! Their responses vary from, “What a beautiful coat!” to “You look so sweet with your bow on your collar!”
You guessed it. Our kennel crush is Miss Phee! She’s a 5.5-year-old, 61-pound Husky mix.
Phee was transferred from a rescue partner in the Imperial Valley through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program. She was so happy. It’s too hot in the desert for a girl with her thick coat.
When an animal care attendant or volunteer goes into her kennel, she waits for them to get settled. Then she rolls over into their lap so she can cuddle.
She’s a strong dog who needs an adult home. Phee likes napping, massages, and being brushed, but doesn’t care for play-dates with other dogs. She would rather be with her people.
The $145 adoption fee for Phee includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Scooter
How could we NOT have a crush on Scooter?! He’s a 3-year-old, 10-1/2-pound Domestic Short Hair cat with a black and white coat.
His life is great now, but a couple months ago he was a stray. Someone took him to a crowded shelter in Riverside County. We got him transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS.)
Scooter LOVES meeting people and making friends. In the cattery, he struts around so you can see what a handsome guy he is. He likes most other cats and gets along very well with female cats.
The $100 adoption fee for Scooter includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.
