October 2020 – Pet of the Month
Valentine, an 8-month old, 12-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair cat is our Fetch Pet of the Month. He has an interesting and somewhat unusual story, something we don’t often see here at Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
Valentine was a two-month-old kitten when he was transferred to us through our FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program. He spent a few weeks in foster care before quickly being adopted.
Five months later, Valentine was returned. Why? The adopter said that he was just “too active.” Whenever someone adopts a kitten or puppy from us, we explain that it’s going to be a work in progress as they grow and their personalities emerge.
What makes Valentine so special and so ideal for an adopter? He’s still very much a kitten. He’s very outgoing and social with people. We already have a very good idea of the adult cat he is becoming. We also believe Valentine might do best in a home with experienced cat owners.
If you or someone you know is looking for a slightly “too active” kitten, please consider Valentine.
The $100 adoption fee for Valentine includes a medical exam, vaccinations, neuter, and registered microchip. Adoptions are by Appointment only. To learn more visit www.SDpets.org.
