President’s Letter – October 2022
Dear RCHS Friends and Family,
A sense of magic and mystery surrounded the Costa Del Sol Ballroom at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa on Saturday, September 17th as hundreds of devoted animal lovers came together to support the amazing work being done here at Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS).
The evening started with a VIP cocktail hour with plenty of glitz and glamour. The party really got lively with a silent auction, jewelry tree and raffles, giving our guests a chance to score some incredible prizes from generous in-kind donors. Those peridot earrings and the peacock purse certainly got lots of attention, right up until the close of bidding! One of our live auction winners just learned about RCHS as she walked past the event! She was so moved by what she learned about RCHS that she was “all in” to win the electric bike from Pedego.
During dinner and wine service, our dazzling Mistress of Ceremonies, Dagmar Midcap of NBC 7, graced the stage, sharing her personal story and connection to animals. Things took a magical turn when renowned magician, Heather Rogers, showed off her skills while having some fun with our guests. We recognized our departed friend, Frank Carl, and our current Thrift Shop partner, The Ark.
Before the night wrapped up, we gave you a sneak peek at our plans for 
Charlotte’s Medical Center, a new Learning Center and Pet Food Bank, a refreshed Welcome Center and overall upgrades so we can better serve our animals and community.

In the end, you helped us raise more than $245,000 that will benefit our companion animals, including $86,500 for our capital campaign.
All in all, RCHS Celebration 2022 – Unleashing the Magic was a night to remember. In the end, we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you!! It was so nice to see everyone again – let’s do it again soon!
