Thank you to The Conrad Prebys Foundation!
The Foundation makes major investment in new RCHS Learning Center
Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) is thrilled to be one of 102 grant recipients of The Conrad Prebys Foundation’s summer 2021 grant cycle. All together, the Foundation awarded $13 million in grant funding in areas which include animal conservation, health care, higher education, youth development, visual and performing arts, and medical research.
RCHS was awarded a $300,000 grant, which is an investment in a Multi-Purpose Classroom in our new Learning Center. On March 18, 2021, the Encinitas Planning Commission approved our plans to expand the campus, and on August 18, 2021, the RCHS Board of Directors approved a feasibility study that recommends the start of a capital campaign to raise money for a new Medical Center, Learning Center, Community Pet Food Bank and more.
“The summer 2021 grant cycle is a continuation of our namesake’s passion and legacy for philanthropic giving and builds upon our inaugural grant cycle earlier this year,” said Erin Decker, Director of Grantmaking for The Conrad Prebys Foundation. “The Conrad Prebys Foundation is thrilled to support these 102 nonprofit organizations that are each working diligently to incite meaningful change throughout San Diego.”
“The grant from The Conrad Prebys Foundation will help RCHS expand its reach for generations to come by supporting the building of a new Learning Center Multi-Purpose Classroom for our Humane Education and Community Outreach programs,” said Judi Sanzo, President and CEO of Rancho Coastal Humane Society. “This grant project includes naming recognition and we are thrilled to be able to honor the legacy of Conrad Prebys and his philanthropic endeavors in this way.”
