Tis’ the Season

“What do you need?” That’s a question we hear a lot during this time of year at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

The end of the year brings some urgent needs.

  • The Community Pet Food Bank will provide holiday meals for pets to make sure the animals and their families ALL get to eat. We’ll also be participating in the Community Resource Center’s “Holiday Food Baskets” program again this year. We will need 500 lbs of dry dog food and 200 lbs of dry cat food! Now is the time to make a food or financial donation to the RCHS Pet Food Bank.
  • We always need foster care volunteers during the spring and summer when kittens and puppies are being born, but “kitten season” is nearly year round. There’s always a need for in-home care for babies, new mommies, pets recovering from medical issues, and others who need a quiet place to prepare for their new lives. https://rchumanesociety.org/foster/
  • Domestic violence doesn’t take a break for the holidays. People may talk about it less. Victims convince themselves that things will get better if they can make it to the New Year. The Animal Safehouse Program at RCHS is the safety net for the pets of domestic violence victims, struggling families, veterans, and individuals facing health concerns. The need doesn’t go away during the holidays and often increases in January. There is NEVER a fee for clients of ASP. We rely on you to keep this life-saving program going. https://rchumanesociety.org/animal-safehouse/
  • If you’ve ever seen an itemized bill for hospital care, you probably were surprised at everything that was used for your treatment or to save your life. It’s the same with our Veterinary Medical department at RCHS. Our cats, dogs, and rabbits don’t have health insurance. What they have is YOU! Your gift makes a significant impact on the lives of our shelter pets – help us make them all healthy! https://rchumanesociety.networkforgood.com/projects/68601-donate

Tis’ the season. Whether you do it now, during GivingTuesday on December 3rd, or any time before the end of the year so you can claim the tax deductions, we thank you for supporting your Rancho Coastal Humane Society where Every Animal Deserves a Tomorrow®.
