Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Can Never Say Thank You Too Much

Every day we thank our donors and volunteers. We thank the people who donate or make purchases at the Thrift Shop. We thank those who bring animals to Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s San Diego Wildlife Center, send their children to Animal Camp, and attend our fundraisers and special events.

This month we have a special Thank You for our friends at the Petfinder Foundation for funding a Cat Enrichment Grant for RCHS.

Maybe you’ve never heard of a Cat Enrichment Grant. The easiest way to describe it is to say the funds will be keeping our cats active and happy while they’re in our care.

Here’s what we purchased with the grant funds:

• 50 boxes of Individual Scratchers for the cat kennels. We also send these home with the cats when they’re adopted so they have something familiar with them.
• Three Katris Cat Modular Cat Trees. They can be configured into different shapes, giving the cats lots of climbing, scratching, and playing options.
• Nine Battery Operated Cat Toys to help keep them active physically and mentally during their times in our Cattery.

So a big thank you to the Petfinder Foundation!  Our kitties are so excited to be getting new scratchers, trees and toys!! We are always grateful for the support in helping keep our animals healthy and active until we find their fur-ever homes!
