Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop is Open, Safe, and Needs YOU!
When we closed the Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, it was going to be “just for a couple weeks.” Thrift Shop Manager Dave Urban, volunteers and staff members would do a thorough cleaning and rearrange the merchandise to allow for social distancing.
Fourteen days turned into twelve weeks! When we re-opened in June, people stood in line to make donations and shop.
Why is the Thrift Shop so important?
- It has been raising funds to support the shelter since 1960.
- The money raised helps feed our animals, pays for veterinary care, buys supplies for the children in our humane education programs, and supports our community programs like Animal Safehouse, Pet Loss Support and the Pet Food bank.
- It’s just plain FUN to shop for a treasure!
Dave is working hard to make up the lost income. During the shutdown, we created a new shopping experience. We welcome you back! Next Monday is a perfect day to visit, shop and drop off donations. Here’s why:
- On National Thrift Shop Day, August 17th, all clothing will be 75% off and furniture and framed art will be 50% off.
Donations can be dropped off at the Thrift Shop or call 760-753-0970 to arrange for large item pick up. Be sure to “Like” Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop on Facebook.
