Fetch – April 2022 – Crushes

La Niña is a “little girl” of a Puppy.

We have a crush on Nina. She’s a 6-month-old, 26-pound, female, Shepherd mix puppy. Nina was a stray in Sonora, Mexico. She was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society by one of our rescue partners through our FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.

Nina recently went home overnight with a staff member. We learned that she likes car rides but, when she got to the house, Nina hid under the dresser at first, watching from her safe place. She is a sweet, but shy and cautious dog. Once Nina felt comfortable, she explored her surroundings and met the resident dog.

Nina will do well in a quiet home with another confident dog and patient people.

The $145 adoption fee for Nina includes medical exam, spay, updated vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if the adopter lives in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.

This Pretty Kitty Will Purr for a Head Scratch.

Our kitty crush this month is Playdough, a 1-year, 9-month-old, 7-1/2-pound, female, Domestic Medium Hair cat with a Brown Tabby coat.

Playdough was at a rescue partner in Riverside County. She was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program.

She’s eager to greet people, but she doesn’t like to be picked up. Playdough likes having her head rubbed. It makes her purr, then she flops on the floor to let you know she wants more. She might like living with another cat or children who will be respectful.

The $100 adoption fee for Playdough includes medical exam, spay, updated vaccinations, and registered microchip.
