Fetch – December 2021 – Crushes of the Month

Ziggy – A Handsome Senior Who Will Quickly Steal Your Heart

Our kennel crush for December is Ziggy. He’s a 9-year-old, 50-pound, male, Hound mix. He came to Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) when his owner was no longer able to provide the care he needed. Before that Ziggy lived with men, women, children, dogs, and cats. He LOVES cats!

Ziggy’s dating profile says that he loves going for walks, chewing on bones, chasing tennis balls, and sticks. Yep. Ziggy loves sticks.

If you’ve been to RCHS lately and didn’t see Ziggy in the kennels, that’s because he is in foster care in the home of a trained volunteer. According to his foster mom, “He has a fun, affectionate personality and loves attention. We’re not sure why he hasn’t been adopted yet.”

Watch a video of Ziggy in action. The adoption fee for Ziggy through December 20th is just $25 (normally $75), thanks to a sponsorship from the Bissell Pet Foundation. The fee includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if his new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.

MISO – A Patient Kitty Long Ready for Her New Home

Miso is our kitty crush of the month. She’s a 6-1/2-year-old, 14-pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat with a brown Tabby coat.

Miso was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society two years ago (that’s right two years) from a rescue partner in Riverside County through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program.

Miso got caught in the “COVID Loop.” Time went on, but it went right around her.

When Miso wasn’t adopted after a few months, she went into foster care with a trained volunteer. We didn’t want her to forget what it’s like living in a real home. She’s an outgoing and active cat.

The adoption fee for Miso through December 20th is just $25 (normally $100), thanks to a sponsorship from the Bissell Pet Foundation. The fee for Miso includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.
