Rosita Needs a Fresh Start
https://rchumanesociety.org/rosita/

Rosita is a 6-month-old, 28-pound, female Labrador Retriever mix. She was transferred
to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from our crowded rescue partner, Rescue Fenix, in
the Mexican state of Sonora through our FOCAS transport program.

Rosita’s lower lip doesn’t line up with her upper lip. Somehow, she had suffered a
broken jaw before arriving here. Our Medical team is working to help Rosita.

In the meantime, she’s enjoying playtime with other dogs, love and affection from our
staff and volunteers, and the first soft bed she’s probably ever had. Rosita is still a
puppy. Her new family will need to continue the training she has started at RCHS.

If this isn’t the right time for you to adopt a puppy, please share Rosita’s information with
your family and friends. You can also be a Virtual Foster by becoming a monthly
sponsor. Rosita’s adoption fee is $195.

Rio Needs a New Home Where He Can Just Hang Out With You
https://rchumanesociety.org/rio/

Rio is an 8-1/2-year-old, 13-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair with a Brown and White
Tabby coat. He was surrendered to one of our rescue partners in Riverside County and
brought to RCHS through our FOCAS transport program.

Rio’s owners separated, and neither of them could take him to their new homes.
Currently, he’s staying in foster care with one of our trained RCHS volunteers.

He has limited sight, but that doesn’t stop him from finding a lap for a nap or having fun
with cat toys that make noise. Rio really likes jingle bells and crinkle toys. He knows his
name and purrs when you pet him.

Rio’s adoption fee is only $75. Can’t adopt him? Sponsor Rio until he finds his forever
home.

Rio is an example of why every pet owner needs a long-term plan for their pets.
Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society and FreeWill can help you create your own
legal will. It’s free and most people finish in 20 minutes or less. Many pet owners do not
have pet guardianship plans for their animals, which means they have no assurance
that their pets will be cared for when something happens. You can also use FreeWill to
create a will that you can finalize with your own attorney. For more information, go to
www.sdpets.org/freewill.
