Help Give a Life-Changing Fresh Start to Our Long-Term Pets
Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s (RCHS) “Fresh Start” Program identifies adoptable pets who have been here longer than expected and need a helping paw in finding a fur-ever home.
Adopters who take home a Fresh Start dog, cat or rabbit receive a special customized package which may include classes or consultations with professional trainers, toys, treats and other supplies. It’s an incentive to help give these long-term animals the chance they deserve.
Even if this isn’t the right time to adopt, please consider sponsoring a Fresh Start. Your tax-deductible sponsorship donation will help an adoptable pet to begin its new life.
Here are two Fresh Start pets who need your help!
Isabelle
Isabelle came to RCHS in August of 2020 after her owner died.
She’s almost 8-years-old, weighs 12-1/2 pounds, and has a Brown Tabby coat.
Before coming to RCHS, Isabelle spent most of her life in the same home. She might like to live with another friendly, mellow cat.
She has spent most of the last year in foster care with a RCHS trained volunteer. She needs an experienced cat owner who will give her time to warm up to a new environment.
The $75 adoption fee for Isabelle includes medical exam, spay, updated vaccinations, and registered microchip.
Jicama
Jicama is a 2-1/2-year-old, 51-pound, female Border Collie mix. She was a stray before being transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.
Border Collies are smart and energetic. Jicama is no exception. She is looking for a family that will keep her active both physically and mentally. Jicama is a volunteer favorite and will benefit from continuing the positive reinforcement training that is teaching her how to be the perfect companion.
The $145 adoption fee for Jicama includes medical exam, spay, updated vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.
