The ultimate companion!

Pepper’s favorite thing is being with his people! Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, going on a hike, playing fetch, or supervising your cooking in the kitchen – this boy is very attentive to his owners and exudes LOVE! He is loyal, playful, patient, and extremely affectionate – puts his chin in your lap, gives you his paw, and wants to be by your side.

He is fully house-trained and has excellent house manners. He is a VERY smart boy that knows lots of words! Sit, lay down, stay, wait, shake, spin, rollover, toy, ball, walk, dinner, friend, etc. Eager to please and highly treat-motivated, Pepper is easy to train and eager to learn! He does great in the car, stays home alone peacefully when his fosters are at work, with no destructive behavior & no separation anxiety. He is used to a dog walker visiting him mid day.

Pepper’s ideal home would provide ample time with his owner, a calm environment, and space to run. While athletic, Pepper is also a great cuddle bug. His first home didn’t expose him to a lot of people, so he can be unsure of new people in the home or loud noises. Pepper is best suited for a family without young children.

Pepper & his housemate (another large breed dog) were relinquished to the Humane Society when his family moved. His previous family took him to Encinitas dog park regularly. While he loves other dogs, he has been nervous & unsure around some, so proper introduction to housemates is key.

Pepper has been certified by his veterinarian as healthy. He has health insurance with no pre-existing conditions, ready to transfer over to his new family.
