Pets of the Month – January 2021

Blanche:

Blanche is a 7-year-old, 15-pound, female Terrier mix. She was taken to one of our rescue partners in the Imperial Valley when her owner died with no plans for her. After that, Blanche was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) transport program. It’s time for Blanche to start her life over. She needs a quiet home and a patient family that will give her time to settle in, at her own pace.

If you have a pet, you also should have a plan in place in case something happens and you are unable to care for your pet for any reason. Rancho Coastal Humane Society and FreeWill can help you create your own legal will. It’s free and most people finish in 20 minutes or less. You also can use FreeWill to create a will that you then can finalize with your own attorney.

Isabelle:

Isabelle is a 6-1/2-year-old, 15-pound, female Domestic Medium Hair cat with a Brown Tabby coat. She spent most of her life in the same home until she was left homeless when her owner died. She was surrendered to Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Since then, Isabelle has been living in a home with one of our AMAZING foster volunteers. She’s a very shy cat. Isabelle might like a new home where she can live with another friendly, mellow cat.

Another good reason to take advantage of FreeWill. Really. We mean it. You need a written plan for your pet(s). Don’t just assume that someone will take them.

Tiramisu:

Tiramisu is a little, bitty bunny. He’s an 8-month-old, 2-1/2-pound, male Harlequin/Polish mix rabbit. He lived in a home with another bunny who “bullied” him. His owners surrendered him to one of our rescue partners in Riverside County. They transferred Tiramisu to RCHS through our FOCAS program. He’s ready to begin his new life with a family that is familiar with rabbit behavior, specifically smaller breeds. He will do best in a home without young children. He might like sharing his home with another rabbit, who will be nice to him.

Adoption fees for pets adopted from Rancho Coastal Humane Society include medical exams, up-to-date vaccinations, spay or neuter, and registered microchip. For information about Adoption by Appointment or to become a Virtual Foster, log on to www.SDpets.org.
